Hep C Patient Open Day

June 23, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Background

Hepatitis Scotland, in partnership with the MRC – University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR), are offering a unique experience for people diagnosed with hepatitis C.

As part of the Medical Research Council’s (MRC) Festival of Medical Research, they would like to offer the opportunity to meet with some of the world-leading researchers working on hepatitis C research in Glasgow.

Glasgow has played a key role in virus research since the 1940s and the CVR has an incredibly dedicated team who devote their careers to researching hepatitis C Virus. The researchers would like to share their knowledge by inviting you to join them at their research centre.

The CVR’s expert scientists will take you on the path of a blood sample during an exclusive tour of the CVR’s world-class research facilities. They will show you the different ways it could be used in their research and explain the vital role that patients play in supporting hepatitis C research.

This is a unique opportunity to learn about the key areas of research and about the milestones and discoveries that have led to breakthrough treatments.
