This is a reminder to members of the notice we published on 18th December, the Forum is holding a Joint Member Meeting with Haemophilia Scotland on:

We have invited two speakers to give a talk on their respective roles and fields of expertise:
- David Knowles, from the Scottish Infected Blood Support Scheme (SIBSS), and
- Professor David Goldberg, Chair of the Clinical Review Group
We will also provide the latest updates on the UK Public Inquiry and the key discussions both organisations have had with the Cabinet Office at Number 10.

David Knowles heads up the SIBSS Advisory Group meetings and leads on the operations of the Scottish Scheme.
He works at NHS National Services Scotland and is also a Director of Practitoner & Counter Fraud Services, and is also involved in GP Registration and payments, Clinical records and protecting NHS Scotland from Financial crime.

Professor David Goldberg is a Consultant in Public Health Medicine and a Consultant Clinical Epidemiologist.
He is responsible for the Health Protection Scotland group dealing with Blood Borne Viruses, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Vaccine Preventable Diseases and Respiratory Infections, and is a Lead on Hepatitis (B and C) and HIV/STI programmes of work.
Professor Goldberg is a former Henry Mechan Professor of Public Health, University of Glasgow. He was Deputy Director of Health Protection Scotland and former Acting Director of the Scottish Centre for Infection and Environmental Health. He serves on several UK and Scottish Committees and is involved in the postgraduate supervision and teaching of students affiliated to the University of Glasgow. He is Professor of Public Health at Glasgow Caledonian University and an Honorary Professor of Public Health at the University of Glasgow.
Significant work includes:
- Leading the team that secured a £43 million investment for Scotland’s Hepatitis C Action plan
- Chairing the National Monitoring and Assurance Group and the Hepatitis C Treatment and Therapies Group for Scotland’s Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Framework
- Responsible for the team that provides HPS clinical leadership and intelligence for the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Framework

Reading Eligibility for Scottish payment scheme Could it be explained to me why I am not eligible for Scottish payment scheme for contaminated blood . I am Scottish, lived in Scotland most of my live but infected when in London 1981. Under the circumstances the decision to bar me from Scottish scheme is discrimination creating inequalities and constrains on my life chances.

Great to read and listen to Boris Johnson and Teresa may condemning Russia for poisoning a couple of Russians. Getting really worked up over this.
